Finally a fine picture of Darwin in the last days of his life, listening to Emma playing the piano. He could look back on a rich and industrious life in which he attained his goals completely. | Galileï demonstrated that the Earth was not the centre of the universe
but that it rotated around the sun. With this knowledge, man became a bit
less special. Darwin put man with two legs on earth by demonstrating that he was just a species amongst other species (with indeed some extraordinary capacities). His theory has had an unprecedented influence on the vision of mankind related to its existence until this day. |
