As a large landowner, every now and then Darwin was obliged to attend meetings of the charity club. He did this because he ought to but is was not really his mission. The meetings took place in the George Inn at Down. | This is how the building looks now. The name has been changed in George & Dragon and quite a number of changes are made. But on the whole the house is still recognizable after all these years. |
