Transverse section made in 1922 from exceptionnally well preserved palm
wood.
The white strip is a fracture in the rock, later on filled up with quartz.
The roundly spots are the vascular bundles. These are composed of a
sclerenchymatic cap (dark) and the real vascular part (light).
