- the lowermost pinnules are different in shape from the other pinnules (like
in Mariopteris): they possess a large lobe at the lower side
- the other pinnules are triangular and more or less inrregularly
lobed
- they are broadly attached in the upper part of a pinna and constricted
at the base in the lower part
- the midvein is inconspicuous
