Flower in travertine from the Eocene of Sézanne (Fr).
This is one of the oldest flowers from the Tertiary: about 60
milllion years old. It is a cast made from a hole in the travertine.
The sinter was deposited around the flowerand later on the
flower has disappeared by decay.
